ZIN Member since 2010
Lynn loves to dance! She studied dance in Alberta, Hawaii, and California. The 70’s dance fitness craze meant she could enjoy both dance and fitness. She became a Jazzercise instructor and took Jazzercise to British Columbia in the 80’s. There, in addition to teaching classes, as the Lead Instructor, she held instructor auditions and raised money for the Heart Association and other non-profits by holding danceathons called “Dance for Heart”. Lynn returned to California in the early 90’s. Her work schedule gave her no time to teach class, so she trained and ran marathons in the US, Canada and Europe. Immediately after her first Zumba Fitness class, Lynn became a Licensed Instructor and using easy-to-follow dance movements and variety of class intensities, Lynn created specially designed classes for Baby Boomers and Active Seniors. Lynn calls her unique style “Zumba for Boomers”. She likes to say…for those of us of a certain age who want our exercise to be FUN!! Lynn has now been teaching Zumba for Boomers for over 13 years in live and virtual classes, both seated and standing formats. She shares her home with her Mom, Ruth, and beloved Silky Terrier pooch named “Doc Martin”.
